With over 3,300 Members the Australian Racing Driver’s Club (ARDC) is one of Australia’s largest, oldest and most respected motorsport membership-based organisations catering to competitors, enthusiasts and race fans. 
 
What makes the ARDC so special is that it gets to call the iconic Sydney Motorsport Park (SMSP) at Eastern Creek its home. This integration between Club and Race Circuit is unique and unparalleled in Australia. You certainly do not need to be a car racing enthusiast to be right for this role, but if you were, then this would probably be the best job in the universe for you !
 
Every year the site welcomes the ARDC Members plus over 300,000 visitors to SMSP as they host a myriad of events including the Supercars Championship, Sydney MasterBlast, World Time Attack, the International Festival of Speed, grassroots racing for both cars & bikes - plus all onsite car and bike motorsport experiences and non-motorsport events. In 2020 SMSP are very excited to also welcome a new 2-Car Supercars team to the venue.  They will also make live their full circuit night lights as well as commencing construction of a NEW Motorsport Australia Centre of Excellence. There is so much excitement happening, which makes the ARDC a great place to be a part of over the coming years. 
 
As part of the ARDC Marketing team in the position of Membership and Loyalty Manager, you will work closely with the 'General Manager, Marketing & Commercial' to drive the implementation of the ARDC Membership program.  You will be a self starter who is motivated as well as being a super star with customer relations and membership marketing.  It would be great if you also could contribute to our social media delivery in relation to membership information.  Basically, the ARDC are looking for someone to take ownership of managing and growing their membership base and enhancing member value.   You will be innovative, interested in making suggestions to improve the program, and creative in packaging and promoting membership.
 
The skills you bring to the role should include many of these:
  • Excellent knowledge of marketing and customer service, including setting up and managing database files. (The ARDC currently works with Memberlink (Ticketek) - experience in this is a bonus)
  • Comfortable with writing strategic plans, analysing both your markets and identifying marketing potential.
  • Experienced with program research/surveys, database analysis & segmentation and making market comparisons. 
  • Skilled at writing membership & promotional materials and developing newsletter content.
  • Adept at nurturing ongoing relationships with ARDC/SMSP corporate and experience partners as well as approaching new partners. 
  • Ability to ensure solid member retention and growth each year.
  • IT Proficiency – ability to maintain and add records, run reports and manipulate lists in a web-based association management platform, word processing, spreadsheets, email marketing, etc.
  • Program budget management & reporting (up to Board Level)
  • Extremely well-organized, goal-oriented and very high attention to detail.
  • Willing to learn, and confident in proposing innovative ideas to management.
  • Comfortable working independently.
  • At ease with physically presenting the ARDC Membership to groups, and being a welcoming face for the program to Members and the market.  
Your role will include these Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Develop goals and action plans.
  • Provide analysis of existing programmatic and membership materials as well as membership retention rates and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop strategic plan for expanding third party members and increasing overall membership.
  • Initiate internal communications, including developing newsletter content, email blasts, event announcements, awareness of member benefits, etc.
  • Assist in creating and updating membership and marketing materials, including letters, flyers for upcoming events, welcome packs, fact sheets, directories, surveys, and others.
  • Managing the ARDC Experience Marquee & Members Lounge at select events throughout the year
  • Work with the ARDC Operations Team in planning and executing Member events and day-to-day Membership operations.
  • The ARDC also tickets a number of its events throughout the year (from simple access to online ticketing through Ticketek’s Eventopia system). You would assist with event build, managing & reporting.
 
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
  • Membership management experience. 
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking
  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in Membership marketing & services
  • Must be able to work weekends (occasional) and extended hours within a flexible work environment
