The Cobar Bowling and Golf Club is a modern, much-loved club facility which has provided the people of Cobar, Western NSW, with a club and sporting venue for over 70 years!
 
The Club offers a wide range of services and entertainment to the community, visitors and our patrons.
 
Besides our two competition class bowling greens, we have one of the finest premium sand green golf courses available in NSW, with 18 holes and grassed fairways.
 
The Club also offers well equipped conference rooms, large functions rooms and a restaurant offering Australian and Chinese Meals. 
 
The Club is a member of Clubs NSW, Clubs Managers Association, Club Safe and affiliated with both Golf NSW & Royal NSW Bowling.
 
ROLE PURPOSE:
As the General Manager, your primary responsibility is to achieve and maintain a high standard of work performance in order to set an example for other Club employees and ensure the confidence of Club members and their elected representatives on the Club's governing management committee, Board of Directors.
 
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
As General Manager your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
  • Perform all duties with professionalism and integrity by proving operational information to the Club's Board of Directors, in a timely manner
  • Responsible for the administration and implementation of Club policies and procedures on a day to day basis, as determined by The Board of Directors.
  • Dress appropriately for the duties performed and in accordance with the policy and culture of the Club
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and privacy
  • Implementation of Board of Directors instructions
  • Reporting to the Board of Directors, including a written report to the Board, on the running of the Club on a monthly basis or as requested
  • Supervision of wages preparation, and verification in accordance with industrial instruments and awards, where necessary, of employee entitlements
  • Maintenance of proper records, including preparation of accurate Board of Director minutes
  • Interpretation ad application of the relevant Statues and Acts of parliament and regulations made there under, in so far as each
    • Liquor, Gaming and Food
    • Workplace Health & Safety
    • Registered Clubs
  • Control all financial aspects of the Club
  • Establish, procedures and policies in relation to matters pertaining to positive employment practises
  • Supervision of all employees including approve wages and payroll, training and development
  • Responsibility for supervision of activities of poker machine / gaming (in conjunction with the Board of Directors)
  • Analysis and interpretation of trading results.
  • Responsibility for all other forms of gaming within the Club, including but not limited to; TAB facilities and Keno.
  • Implementation of practice and procedures for the Responsible Conduct of Gaming.
  • Responsibility for supervision, upkeep and maintenance of Club property, buildings and capital equipment in all Club areas (in conjunction with the Board of Directors where applicable);
  • Submission of samples and/or tenders for selection by the Board of furniture and fittings;
  • Responsibility for security for all stocks and moneys in the Club; and
  • Maintenance of Club website and social pages
  • Creation, Production and Implementation of Strategic Marketing Plans.
  • Responsibility for supervision upkeep and maintenance of Club sporting facilities and capital equipment (in conjunction with the designated sports Manager, Greenkeeper or Board of Directors where applicable);
CRITERIA 1
Business
A. Make an impact on bar sales through correct pricing, product alignment, stock and waste management and rostering
B. Understanding of operational scheduling, procurement, supplier contracts and stakeholders
C. Rostering across the Club to create efficiencies
D. Knowledge of Quick books
E. Manage staff - clear communication channels
F. Follow board instructions in a timely manner, follow through instructions with reporting on actions and / or provide reasoned advice to assist in decision making.
G. Manage external relations with key stakeholders that include Australian Taxation Office, NSW Office of Liquor Gaming & Racing. 
H. Good Financial understanding with the ability to
  • Interpret and report on basic financial data (eg financial position, cash position and cash flow)
  • Review and analyse historical trading figures and income/expenditure
  • Clear written and verbal communication of financial information to Board of Directors including graphical representation and provision of description narratives

A. Ability to communicate with members quickly, efficiently and cost-effectively through web, social media and email campaigns.

Specifically (but not limited to) change management, identifying opportunities, reflecting on one’s own practicing for improvement, engaging colleagues and adapting to new situations and appropriate day to day level of operation.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
A. 2 years experience in a similar position
B. Full drivers licence
C. Current NSW RSA & RCG competency card 
D. Police check
