ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the HR and Operations Manager, the Roster & Payroll Co-ordinator undertakes the weekly payroll and the rostering and co-ordination of a total 150 employees throughout all of the Club’s four premises. The person will follow a carefully designed roster template to design the Club’s weekly roster, replace staff absences as they fall due in liaison with the Duty Manager, conduct the weekly payroll and complete all relevant reporting. Their main role is to ensure that the Club is capable of ensuring the high customer service standards throughout the Club group are maintained. 

In this role, you will:

  • Prepare the weekly rosters for each of the Club’s 4 premises using the Deputy.com system;
  • Replace staff absences as they occur by assisting the Duty Manager in identifying and co-ordinating replacement staff;
  • Conduct the weekly payroll using the WageEasy Payroll System by way of reconciliation of timesheets from Deputy.com 
  • Run and distribute all relevant roster and payroll reports on a weekly and monthly basis
  • Maintain the Club’s skills and attendance databases
  • Ensure that all relevant Award conditions are met in the design of rosters and the conduct of the weekly payroll.
  • Monitoring and planning all request for unavailability, annual leave, long service leave, personal carer’s leave to ensure the Club provides a high level of customer service
  • Advising the Human Resources Manager on ensuring the continuity of an appropriate skill base being available in the Club’s employee base
  • Assist in the administration of the onboarding of new Club staff
  • The co-ordination of the rosters for staff training and special events
  • Regularly liaise with our payroll/roster service providers to ensure that the systems are up to date and advise of changes to improve their efficacy.
  • Undertake other duties that may be reasonably expected of a high-level employee.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Experience, skills & attributes (Essential):

  • Current RSA & RCG Qualifications
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel to assist in the design of spreadsheets and the ability to learn and maintain information through databases.
  • Strong knowledge of the Registered and Licenced Clubs Award
  • Previous experience at managing a roster and payroll system (preferably Deputy and WageEasy)
  • Commitment to and understanding of high quality customer service
  • Well developed skills in managing time, setting priorities, planning and organising your work
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Able to manage tight deadlines in a methodical and dedicated manner
  • High adaptability
  • Strong communication skills throughout all levels of the Club

Experience, skills & attributes (Desirable):

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Deputy.com and WageEasy is desirable, (if not training will be provided into these systems)
  • Ability to show initiative and judgment in the workplace
  • Ability to communicate in Cantonese, Mandarin or Vietnamese and advantage 

HOURS OF WORK

Generally Monday to Friday, with some weekend work when required

REMUNERATION 

Salary will be commensurate with previous experience, knowledge and demonstrated ability in the role
