We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Events Manager to oversee our exciting Functions Department.

As the Events Manager at the Canada Bay Club, you will
be working with a supportive team to assist you in delivering high quality Events such as Conferences, Weddings, Private and Community functions plus much more. This is a hands-on operational role with physical attributes, and you would be an integral member of the Senior Management team.
 
The Events Manager's key responsibilities include:
  • Event Business Development and Sales;
  • End-to-end event management including initial on-site event delivery;
  • Prioritizing event delivery over administration 
  • Maintain and continue Client, Supplier and Community group relationship management;
  • Staff management and training (including assisting in recruitment and performance);
  • Budget management for the department/driving financial performance/forecasting;
  • Monthly conversion rates and sales budget including developing these;
  • Strategic development of sales calls activity;
  • Assist in managing a Marketing and Sales plan for the Club;
  • Reporting to the General Manager and Board in regards to Financial outcomes of Events Department.
To be considered for this role you will need to be able to demonstrate the following;
  • Recent Industry experience in Events Management;
  • Be available and flexible across the full week including weekends as required;
  • Must be confident, personable and charismatic 
  • Proven ability to manage events and staff;
  • Strong Leadership skills within a collaborative environment;
  • Strong negotiation and acquisition skills;
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers;
  • Able to converse with people from all walks of life
  • Attention to detail and commitment to achieving quality outcomes;
  • Ability to work to deadlines and within a high pressure environment;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously;
  • Must have the ability to be creative, resourceful and think outside the box;
  • Must be motivated and driven with a collaborative approach to problem solving and process improvement;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Proven computer skills in the use of administrative and Events specific software and applications;
  • Current NSW RSA/RCG Competency and First Aid certification.
