Club Macquarie is a successful Club located at the top of Lake Macquarie in the suburb of Argenton since 1967. We have over 9,000 members, 94 gaming machines and we employ approximately 55 staff. We are proud to also own and operate a 36-room motel (Macquarie 4 Star) which is connected to Club Macquarie via a secure covered walkway. The Club prides itself on excellence in both service and the product we provide to our valued Members and Guests.

We have recently appointed a new CEO to lead the club.  We are now also excited to be able to appoint an experienced Operations Manager to support both the CEO along with supporting the highly skilled and motivated team.  This is a key role within the organisation and sits as part of the Senior Management team. 

About the role: 


The key role of the Operations Manager is to successfully guide and facilitate the day to day operations of the Club. It is a collaborative position, working closely with all teams.  The role focuses on exceptional customer service to ensure the efficient and smooth operations of Club Macquarie. 

Key Criteria, Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of five years in a managerial role within the club industry
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills
  • A sound understanding of gaming operations
  • Accept financial accountability of all areas within the club
  • Interpretation and compliance with legal, legislative and statutory requirements of the club
  • Ability to manage the overall operation of all hospitality areas within the club
  • Ensure the teams are exceeding customer needs and expectations.
  • Oversee and manage Work Health and Safety
  • Identify and implement opportunities for increasing the revenue base of the club
  • Oversee the implementation of stock control including costing, sourcing and monthly stocktake
  • A strong ability and desire to engage with all staff members and customers alike, leading by example.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Friendly, positive, can-do attitude with a passion for customer service
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Sound knowledge of Ebet, Senpos systems preferred
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Immaculate presentation and grooming standards 
  • Flexibility to work across a 7-day roster including weekends and public holidays
  • RCG and RSA Competency Cards a must

The salary package is negotiable and will be dependent on the qualifications, experience and skills of the successful applicant.
