Food & Beverage / Duty Manager - Full Time

Gladesville RSL Club offers facilities that include 3 bars, 119 gaming machines, contracted Bistro and an active Youth Club. The Club has over 6,000 members, with a relatively small but committed team of 25 staff at the licensed premises and another 40 in the Youth Club. 
 
Now you can join our great team! With two projects underway, a 34-unit Seniors Living & Youth Club Development, plus a Club refurbishment, Gladesville RSL has a lot happening in the next few years. Stage 1 of the Club refurbishment includes a new gaming floor opening in September 2019 and a new cafĂ©/cocktail bar operated by the Club opening February 2020.
 
This role is currently filled by a Manager who is retiring at the end of the year. We are looking to appoint a new Manager to commence their training in November. 
 
This role would suit a current Duty Manager who is looking for a position with additional responsibilities. To encourage the development of our staff, each Duty Managers has an operational portfolio, with 1-2 office days rostered each week.

In this role the Food & Beverage Manager will also look after:
  • Monitoring and improving the customers F&B experience 
  • Menu development
  • Sourcing and negotiating with suppliers
  • Staff training
  • Analysis of F&B performance and recommending improvements
  • Overseeing the catering agreement and catering operations
  • Supervising cellar operations
In the capacity of Duty Manager, you are required to ensure all Club operations are functioning well and patrons are receiving the best possible service. 

To be successful in this role you will require:
  • Previous experience as a Duty Manager.
  • High standards of customer service & attention to detail.
  • Leadership, communication & organisational skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team and unsupervised.
  • Ability to make decisions and stand by them.
  • Current RSA, RSA and First Aid certificate.
  • Flexibility to work a 7-day rotating roster including nights, weekends and public holidays.
  • Previous experience in F&B operations is an advantage. 
This position is remunerated at Level B + 20% under the Registered & Licensed Clubs Award. Whilst this is an over Award payment, please note we continue to pay weekend, evening and public holiday penalty rates to our managers.
