Our Harbord Diggers venue has undergone a phenomenal transformation building a world class intergenerational precinct. Whilst our Manly Bowling Club venue is treasured by locals for its laid back, relaxed atmosphere. We are currently seeking an experienced Operations Manager who is looking to progress their hospitality career at one of the best venues on the Northern Beaches of Sydney. This role will oversee both Harbord Diggers and Manly Bowling Club.

This is a rare opportunity for someone special. You must have previous experience in a club/pub venue with a strong work ethic, a passion for people, hospitality and exceptional communication skills.

The intended scope of the role/club is that the Operations Manager will report to the General Manager with approximately 180 team members; 60,000 members (136,000 within Mounties Group); and 214 gaming machines.

The role

  • Leadership role that will see you motivating, coaching, mentoring and developing a strong and dynamic team with a focus on delivering exceptional service standards and memorable guest experiences.
  • Responsible for setting the benchmark for service across the venue including F&B and Gaming.
  • Embracing Mounties values and promoting a service orientated and cohesive team culture.
  • Being a strong custodian of our culture and ensuring a harmonious work environment.
  • Talent management and succession planning.
  • Building business relationships and networks.
  • Managing appropriate budgets to ensure the continuation of a profitable business, to ensure profit for purpose.
  • Ensuring compliance with industry regulations and relevant statutes including but not limited to; OLGR, Registered Clubs Act, Gaming Machines Act, and WHS.
  • This role will truly allow you to invest your passion and knowledge into the teams to ensure their success, and therefore yours.

So, what do you need to be considered for this role?

  • A minimum of 5 years managerial experience in a club/pub style environment
  • Experience controlling operating costs and achieving agreed KPI’s
  • Strong financial understanding of budgets, costs, and reporting
  • Experience in overseeing a range of functions such as gaming, bars, restaurants, and reception
  • Ability to lead and work cohesively across multiple teams
  • Have a passion for delivering a flawless level of guest experience
  • Sound understanding of licensing laws and statutory compliance
  • The ability to work with a diverse range of clientele
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Positive attitude, enthusiasm, energy and loads of personality
  • Ability to work when the venue is busy including weekends and nights
