Who are we?

Functions is a key growth area for the venue and with North Sydney CBD just down the road, over 230 car spaces, HACCP certified, and the capacity to cater for intimate functions right up to 530 pax we are the perfect destination for corporate, government, schools and community clients.

The role:

NORTHS are seeking a Full Time Events Operations Coordinator to join our team. We are looking for someone that is experienced in running the day to day operations of the Events department and has a hands on approach with exceptional and professional customer service skills. Your primary responsibility will be to operate the functions business from compilation of event order, through to on site management of the event.

Key Responsibilities and Duties will include:

  • Coordinate the communication and set up of the function rooms for each event
  • Liaise with internal and external key stakeholders to ensure all the requirements of the function are met
  • Ensure there is a high level of order in the function areas, back of house, tableware and equipment used by functions
  • Assist as required in the management of food and beverage service
  • Deliver outstanding service excellence and a memorable guest experience
  • Be responsible for monitoring roster requirements whilst adhering to wage cost guidelines
  • Monitor staff throughout all function spaces
  • Be able to solve any problems that may arise in an event
  • Provide feedback on all events and make recommendations on improving the function operations

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Hold a valid Responsible Service of Alcohol and Responsible Conduct of Gambling
  • Previous experience in working in functions at a supervisory level and/or functions coordinator
  • Have a 'hands on' approach
  • Exceptional eye for detail
  • Experience with EventPro or similar events software (desirable)
  • An appreciation that working some nights and weekends may be necessary if the client's needs require
