Orange Ex-Services' Club (OESC) is one of the leading clubs in NSW's Central West.  With a population of around 44,000, Orange is one of Australia's most significant regional cities and has grown to be a hub of NSW's Central West.  It's a booming city with great facilities including hatted restaurants, modern cafes, excellent private and public schools, extensive sporting facilities, an airport and one of the leading hospitals in the State along with all the facilities that come with such a vibrant and popular city.

With all these amazing components that make up the magnificent region of 'Orange', comes a highly competitive and enthusiastic market.  With a highly competitive market comes the need for doing things differently and having the ability to stand out amongst the rest. Which is where having a champion Marketing team comes into play.  We are super excited to have earmarked our next incredible Marketing Manager from within our organisation.  We have always hired for attitude and potential, which is what we have in our recent appointment.  What we need is someone to flank, mentor and coach her to ensure that she has all the tools, knowledge and support to let her shine and be the best in the business.  We want to secure a Marketing Mentor / Coach / Consultant to help her on her way.  You will come into the business and be part of us on site for the first week or two.  You will get to know our team, our Club and our region so that you can best assist with direction and support.  From that point onwards, you will be at the other end of a phone or video call to provide ongoing support and coaching in the Marketing discipline.  You will provide advice in a supportive and consultative way with the end goal of giving our new Marketing Manager the tools to fly on her own, and for the Club to have the best marketing function in the area.  This role is NOT to be the 'boss' of our Marketing Manager but to be a guide and a sounding board.

Is this something you could be?

With a strong membership of 20,000 and a dedicated staff of around 220, the Club has two sites (The Main Club and Wentworth Golf Club), an 18-hole golf course, bowling green, a ten court tennis complex and a 78 room motel (Mercure).  The Club has a gaming machine installation of around 250.  The Club manages an annual revenue of $30 million and is proud of its commitment to the community through giving back via high-level grants and various ongoing support. In 2017, the Club opened an exciting food and beverage precinct known as 'The Greenhouse of Orange'.  This has re-opened post-COVID and is now the premier food and beverage destination in the area.  The Club is in a solid financial position with a range of growth strategies planned including building a state of the art new clubhouse at our Wentworth site.

Our Marketing Manager will be doing the following, and YOU will be assisting her to be on the right path to achieving these:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Marketing Plan; outlining strategies to promote the organisation's goods, services, and facilities.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies and establish targets to maximise the organisation's sales and member loyalty.
  • Develop and implement strategies to generate increased patronage by creating and reinforcing 'brand image' or 'brand loyalty'.
  • Plan and execute all web, SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, social media and display advertising campaigns.

  • Ensure we continue to make a mark in our community as being the best 'social citizens' that we can be.
  • Evaluating the financial aspects of PEMA (promotions, events, marketing and advertising), such as budgets, expenditures, research and development appropriations, and return-on-investment and profit-loss projections.
  • Working with departmental managers around pricing strategies, balancing company objectives and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide an effective communications strategy to Management, Staff, Members & the broader community.
  • Provide input and strategy to drive a positive, values-based company culture.
  • Managing external "PR" communications in conjunction with the CEO.
  • Driving the promotional aspect of the Club through events and general club activities.
  • Managing and driving the community engagement plan.
  • Seeking & driving applications for recognition in industry and community-based award opportunities.
  • Having a pulse on local affairs and exploiting opportunities as a pivotal community organisation.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR IN A MENTOR / COACH / CONSULTANT

  • Demonstrated research and evaluation skills, including the ability to interpret market research, calculations and data
