The Club houses a state of the art function centre, modern dining facilities, two bowling greens, a football oval and operate an 80 room four star hotel from their site. This is an excellent opportunity that will see you working in a varied and interesting role where you will build professional relationships.
 
The Role:
 
Rules Club Wagga are looking for an experienced Finance Manager / Accountant, who can take control of the Accounting Department and work in partnership with the Administration Team.

Ideally, you will be a Senior Manager with experience in a similiar role. The Club are open to discussions around flexible work hours should a suitable candidate not be seeking a Full-Time position.   
 
Main Responsibilities:
  • Daily management of finance functions
  • Oversight and review of the payroll and accounts payable functions & cash handling functions
  • Preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements and year-end accounts, including presentation to the Board
  • Preparation of cashflow, forecasts and budgets and monitoring performance
  • Financial feasibility analysis of strategic projects
  • Liaising with the Club’s bank regarding all banking facilities and requirements
  • Facilitating the external annual audit
  • Oversight of the Club’s statutory compliance and lodgement obligations with ATO, ASIC, Revenue NSW and other regulatory bodies
  • Management of fixed asset register
  • Manage all lease agreements, major contracts, insurances and claims
The successful applicant will have:
  • Financial Management skills appropriate for this role or similar
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a management position
  • The skills necessary to analyse and importantly explain financial results
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (CA/CPA) - highly regarded
  • Sound communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to engage with the Board, Senior Management and Teams as well as external stakeholders
  • Substantial understanding of Australian FBT, GST and BAS
  • Excellent Microsoft Office Skills specifically excel advanced
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and being able to hit the ground running
  • Club experience preferred
