Club Rivers (Riverwood Legion and Community Club) is one of Sydney's most successful clubs.  Recognised for countless industry, business and community awards, the culture and service delivery at Club Rivers will impress any prospective CEO looking for a solid business to manage, with guidance from a confident and stable Board of Directors. 
 
The Club has a cohesive and dedicated staff of around 70 and a membership of over 15,500.  The Club is true to its charter of looking after 'Legion and Community'.  This Club's catch phrase is "Be Surprised". 
 
The brand 'Club Rivers' is a name that is readily recognised throughout the Riverwood and local community as a club that really cares and 'gives back'.  This charter of 'supporting the community' is not something that is taken lightly, it is deeply engrained in the hearts of all those involved with the club on a day to day basis.  The Board, Management and Staff go above and beyond to help others. 

The Board of Directors is seeking a CEO who can ensure that the Club continues to be successful and to be recognised in the community.  
 
The Club's main restaurant/bistro, Malt Barrel CHAR & BAR is contracted and is very popular, offering an extensive menu.  The working relationship with Malt Barrel CHAR & BAR and the alternative eatery, 'Red River House' is exceptional.  The 'Little Spoon Cafe' is operated by the Club and is a complimentary offering to the two food outlets.  There are a five function rooms of ranging sizes holding between 15pax and 300pax. The Club has licences for a gaming installation of 208 entitlements. TAB and Keno facilities are also found within the club. 
 
The Club currently has a large development and building work for a new multi-story Car Park and Commercial Premises which is on schedule and budget with an aimed completion date of January 2020.
 
The Club is a stable and financially sound organisation, strong in its assets (including a number of investment properties) and is confident in its trading results.  The Club has an annual revenue of around $21 million and a strong EBITDA. 

The new CEO will need to be able to not only manage the current financial success, but also continue to enhance results. 
 
The Board of Directors are looking to appoint a CEO who can demonstrate leadership attributes which includes the ability to;
  • Develop and execute strategic planning principles along with strategic thinking;
  • Manage Club Rivers agreed vision, charter and purpose;
  • Continue to build on the Club Rivers culture;
  • Manage and motivate teams to share the organisation's vision, charter and purpose;
  • Demonstrate innovative management techniques;
  • Embrace the philosophy of continual improvement and have the capability of guiding organisational agility and flexibility in changing environments;
  • Focus on outcomes for not only fiscal results but effective community relationships and people achievement;
  • Communicate at all levels and with all stakeholders of the business demonstrating at all times a constructive approach and an aptitude for higher level negotiation and problem solving.

  • Work with a Board of Directors who are positive about the continued support that the club gives to their community;
  • Focus on the success of the business and its charter and have the support and backing of the Board of Directors to grow the business in line with the values of the organisation;
  • Have multiple projects to manage;
  • Be able to manage the business as a whole whilst having a grasp on the productivity of all areas within the business;
  • Be instrumental in the setting, execution and delivery of the budgeted strategies;
  • Be supported with the growth and development of your teams so that they are motivated to achieve;
  • Be encouraged to continue your own self development and continued improvement at all levels; and
  • Be rewarded for your ongoing ability to achieve results;
