Wangi District Workers Club is a community minded organisation ideally located on the waterfront of the western shores of Lake Macquarie NSW and offers a great lifestyle opportunity for a career minded individual to join the team as Club Operations Manager.
The Board of Directors are progressive and have strategically diversified revenue streams from the traditional beer, house wine and soft drink business model.
 
The Club is in a strong financial position and boasts a team of over 30 dedicated staff that collectively operate 3 bars, bistro (contract caterer) an adjoining café with waterfront alfresco deck, 65 gaming machines, full TAB facilities, Keno, 2 function rooms, lounge area, 62 unit relocatable home village and a retirement village.
 
The role is predominantly days but flexibility is required to manage peak operating times including evenings, weekends and public holidays as required.
 
This is a rare and genuine 2IC role with possible career advancement opportunities.

Directly supporting the CEO in managing all aspects of the clubs operation including but not limited to;
  • Manage and develop a team of over 30 staff providing superior customer service 
  • Oversee and manage staff rosters over several departments within budget
  • Liaising with and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Recruitment, training and management of staff including dispute resolution 
  • Overseeing and implementing club operations policies and procedures including WHS
  • Office management including Payroll, accounts payable and receivable
  • Gaming reconciliation including the provision of cash flow discrepancy reports
  • Developing and Implementing quality control procedures as required
  • Provision of concise financial reports and business performance reports
  • Monitor and control reconciliation processes
  • Management and implementation of facility maintenance projects
  • Bar management including product portfolio and inventory procedures
  • Implementing and monitoring internal, online and external marketing strategies
  • Membership database management
  • Relieving the CEO in their absence
  • Effectively investigating and resolving customer complaints 
  • Effectively develop, plan and manage events 
Minimum requirements: 
  • Current RSA and RCG competency card
  • Approved liquor manager or able to obtain
  • Sound knowledge of legislative requirements applicable to the club industry
  • Advanced level computer skills 
  • Demonstrated history of honest and ethical conduct
  • Hold or willing to obtain National Police Check
  • Superior knowledge of food and beverage operations
  • Sound understanding of stock inventory
  • Ability to multi task in high pressure situations
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating and mentoring a team of staff to deliver exceptional customer service
  • Demonstrated ability to trouble shoot and problem solve
  • Supreme cash handling skills
Desired requirements:
  • 3 years management experience at a senior level (preferably in hospitality)
  • Tertiary qualifications in hospitality or business management
  • Experience with Senpos point of sale, Pulse payroll and database software, Xero accounting software and Aristocrat S7000 gaming system or similar
