General Manager

The Willoughby Park Bowling Club is a small 330 member club located in Willoughby, which has a history that dates back well over 60 years. The Club operates two active Bowling Greens and 11 Gaming Machines. The Club is currently looking for a General Manager to join their close-knit team of casual staff and a part time Operations Manager.
 
About the role:
 
The General Manager role entails maintaining the high standards of the Bowling Club as well as managing the Contract Caterers.
 
Duties include:
  • All round Club Management
  • Hands on operational duties including bar, cellar etc
  • Managing Contract Caterers
  • Managing Bookings and Functions
  • Staff management
  • Overseeing Payroll processing
  • Monthly reporting to Club's Board of management including financial repor.
  • Financial management, monitoring costs, reconciling tills and banking
  • Managing promotions and marketing for the Club
  • Ensuring adherence to the Clubs constitution and by-laws
  • Assisting with all general operations of the Club
  • Maintaining the membership database and actively seeking to increase membership

Selection Criteria
Essential Requirements:
  • Computer literate with the ability to analyse a P&L statement
  • Work closely with the Board and keep the Board informed on all relevant issues
  • Manage the day to day operation of the Club and its facilities
  • Lead and manage staff and necessary rosters
  • Oversee accounts management
  • Undertake office or administration duties
  • Develop strategies and marketing and promotion of the Club to keep it vibrant and viable
  • RSA, RCG and Approved Manager 
  • Inspirational leader, calm and good under pressure
  • A people person as interaction with members is a daily requirement
  • Work well within a small team and ability to participate in hands on hospitality tasks, leading from the front
  • Ability to multi task
  • Full working rights within Australia
Desirable Requirements:
  • Experience with promotions and knowledge of digital marketing
  • Knowledge of the POSCOM system would be advantageous
