Yarrawonga Mulwala Golf Club Resort (YMGCR) is one of the most visited and well known golf clubs on the NSW / Victoria border.  YMGCR was established in 1897 and is steeped in history.  The incumbent CEO is moving on to a new position and this leaves the club ready to employ a new CEO to strengthen and consolidate the club's current position.  With such a strong presence in the golfing community, this position will be an extremely well sought after role within the industry.

The 7,350 member strong club offers a wide range of food and beverage options.  The in-house catering consists of a 350 seat bistro which operates across 7 days as well as a 7 day a week sandwich bar. The Club is growing to be a popular wedding, conference and special events venue.  This is a busy operation and popular all year round.  The club has a gross annual revenue of around $16 million and a modern gaming installation of 120 machines.  

The Board of Directors (9 in total), headed up by a President and Vice President, Captain and Vice Captain are professional in their outlook, cohesive in their policy making and direction, and extremely supportive of their CEO.  The new CEO will come to this role with the ability to encourage and motivate the staff, embrace the members by displaying excellence in communication, work with the Board to consolidate the club and lead the organisation forward to continued success.  

As the new CEO of YMGCR you will be a credible leader who displays modern leadership styles whilst being seen as not only a leader in the business, but a leader in the community.  You will represent the organisation throughout the area with professionalism and pride.  You will be earnest and genuine in your care for your teams and display humanistic and approachable leadership behaviours.  You will empower others to keep achieving both personally and for the club.

  • Work with a Board of Directors who are positive about their staff and members, the community and the business;
  • Have the support and backing of the Board of Directors to grow the business in line with the values and strategic direction of the organisation;
  • Be able to manage the business as a whole whilst having a grasp on the success of all profit centres within the business;
  • Be instrumental in the setting, execution and delivery of the budgeted strategies;
  • Develop your team to continually achieve;
  • Be supported with the growth and development of your teams so that they are motivated to achieve;
  • Be supported in other areas of business development and growth both within and outside the typical and traditional golf club based strategies;
  • Be encouraged to continue your own self development and continued improvement at all levels; and
  • Be a part of a growth organisation that promotes a recognisable brand along the NSW/Vic Border with a strong history of ongoing success.

You will be someone who:

  • Has a good understanding and appreciation of the game of golf (you don't have to be a Pro or even play well, you just have to appreciate the game!);
  • Has an exceptional customer service ethic;
  • Has an exceptional business ethic;
  • Can manage the club at not only an operational level, but a financial level as well;
  • The members and staff all know, see and respect;
  • Is truly a 'people person' with strong integrity;
  • Is capable of demonstrating innovative management techniques;
  • Continually reflects on the business and searches for ways to continually improve;
  • Is a strong negotiator, communicator and problem solver;
  • Treats all people as equal.
