The Armidale City Bowling Club is a multi-award-winning venue renowned for its progressive focus and inclusive culture. The Club has recently completed a 4-million-dollar renovation to its trading areas and has another major capital project scheduled to start early next year. To complement this the Club is looking to appoint an Operations Manager to develop and implement operational policy and procedure to the Clubs food, beverage, gaming and banqueting departments. 
 
This fantastic opportunity is set in the picturesque University town of Armidale offering a unique blend of cosmopolitan vitality and cultural diversity situated only a short drive to the Coffs Harbour coast and halfway between Sydney and Brisbane.
 
Reporting directly to the Club's Chief Executive Officer, and acting as the CEO in his absence, this role will provide leadership and coaching to departmental heads to coordinate the successful functioning of Club service delivery. A hands-on focus in this regard will be essential to enable the incumbent to lead operational teams by example and to provide on the job coaching to around 40 team members.
 
Key responsibility areas include:
  • Carriage of human resource initiatives such as performance management, recruitment and induction to aid in developing culture and service objectives
  • Budgetary oversight of departmental labour and cost of goods 
  • Overseeing events team and event process/procedure
  • Providing leadership in a hands-on capacity to operational teams in the food, beverage and gaming departments
  • Assisting in the development, implementation and monitoring of promotional and marketing activities
  • Assisting in the oversite and coaching of departmental managers
  • Ensuring the Clubs strategic goals are met through the delivery of operational targets and benchmarks
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of Club systems and IT capacity to streamline service for patrons
This role will be varied and will focus on leading the Club's customer service strategy, stock and labour control as well as ensuring the smooth running of the Club's operations and providing input into the Club's strategic focus. To ensure operational success, the incumbent will be required to work a flexible roster to meet business demands and will be provide with a 9 day fortnight once a month.
