The Club has spent significant money upgrading its facilities and boasts modern, contemporary and stylish fittings throughout. With a membership of over 10,000 along with an annual turnover in excess of $14 million, this medium sized club has truly made its mark in its area. Integral parts of the organization include the gaming machine installation of 166, the strong food and beverage operation including a successful functions department, as well as external investment interests. Due to the resignation of the current Finance Manager who has been with the Club for a number of years, the Club is now looking for someone to carry on the great work that she has achieved to date. This role is part time and can be across 2-3 days (open to negotiation). The days and times of work can be flexible to meet both your needs and the needs of the club!

The business is seeking a progressive, hands-on Finance Manager to join the team. You will be able to demonstrate the ability to produce innovative ideas and solutions to a range of challenges. To fit into this team you will be comfortable in looking after the day to day accounting functions, but you also will be able to think strategically and be able to add to the business at a senior level. You would be a person who can easily demonstrate sound analytical skills along with the ability to communicate well with all stakeholders. You will be pleased to work closely with a professional and cohesive Board of Directors as well as a consultative and constructive CEO.
Your CA or CPA or General Accounting qualifications and excellent work history will be highly regarded. You will have the ability to seamlessly join the management team and be able to directly contribute to the ongoing success of the club. You will have the business acumen and to face challenges head on whilst demonstrating excellence in Corporate Governance. You will be open and aware of the need for continual improvement within the administration department and beyond.
This exciting position is part of the Senior Management Team and reports directly to the CEO. You will be willing and able to take full ownership of the position and the Finance/Administration Department, work with structured processes and systems, whilst working with and being part of a motivated Management Team.
You will be responsible for:
Management Accounting
Preparation of monthly management accounting reports
Ensuring the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of financial information
Direct and motivate support staff
Support and guide fellow Managers on accounting and administration issues
General office administration
Gaining an understanding of the Club or hospitality Industry and the challenges it faces
Financial Accounting
Financial Reporting
Taxes (income, BAS, FBT etc)
Balance sheet and Asset Management control
Audit issues in conjunction with External Auditor
Cash flow management & reporting
Financial analysis and reporting
Budgeting and Forecasting
General
Overseeing cash systems and procedures
General administration Other tasks as required
