We are seeking a highly motivated and energetic professional to take on the full time role of Secretary Manager. The Hills Club is one of the largest licensed venues in The Hills District and while its historical function is as a Bowling Club, the Club’s social membership makes up around 90% of its registered members as the Club strives to provide a friendly and inviting atmosphere for its many members.
The Club offers two bars, bistro, gaming, TAB, Keno and function facilities.
Key responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Day-to-day management of all aspects of the Club’s operations, with the assistance of great support staff
- Increasing membership and income, as well as maximising profits
- Ensure Club member and visitors expectations are met to the best of his/her ability
- Management of administration, supervisory, security and general staff
- Providing the Board of Directors with relevant and timely updates of the Club’s operations, including attendance at a monthly Board Meeting
- Stock control including attending periodic stock takes o Manage and maintain the Club facilities, plant & equipment
- Regular liaison with Police, OLGR, attending Liquor Accord meetings
- Attend local CDSE charter meetings
As the successful applicant you will be required to meet most or preferably all of the following criteria:
- Previous management of a licensed Club or hotel
- Exhibit a genuine passion for working in the industry and for The Hills Club
- Broad knowledge of the Industry as well as Liquor & Gaming legislation and regulations
- Excellent leadership skills and demonstrated examples of building a good rapport with staff
- Good financial background with proven success in maximising income opportunities
- Marketing experience and creativity to develop new ideas to attract potential new members or increasing traffic through the Club
- Excellent time management and planning skills
- TAB / Keno experience
- MS Office competency – Word, Excel, Powerpoint
A remuneration package of up to $110K with performance based bonuses will be offered to the successful candidate. The remuneration package is based on a flexible 40 hour working week and applicants must be available to work outside of normal business hours including regular weekend work.
