The Group has 16,000 members and 230 employees and manages 313 gaming entitlements.
Facilities across the group include 4 food outlets; 8 bars; 10 function rooms with a total capacity of 940 pax; 2 auditoriums holding 1170 and the main auditorium holding 1500; a coffee shop; 4 bowling greens and an 18 hole golf course. We are currently seeking a professional and astute Manager to take on this key role within the Group of Group Human Resource Manager.
Duties include:
- Responsible for personnel records by: Initiating and maintaining personnel files with regard to personal details, performance appraisals, and other relevant work history for all employees
- Responsible for overseeing sick leave, annual leave, long service leave, maternity leave and special leave requirements by: Ensuring maintenance of appropriate records. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge on all conditions pertaining to leave. Advising staff of leave entitlements and requirements
- Responsible for maintaining adequate and safe staffing levels by: Liaising with Senior and Middle Management regarding the Human Resource needs for each department and planning for those needs
- Responsible for active recruitment of staff by: Assessment of all positions. Placement of advertisements in appropriate media or through appropriate agencies. Initial interviewing and culling of job applicants. Providing reports on interviews. Arranging second interviews where appropriate
- Responsible for initiating and maintaining up-to-date job specifications
- Responsible for researching, designing and implementing appropriate methods of staff performance, appraisal and reward systems
- Responsible for being conversant and proficient with the underlying legislation of awards and industrial matters including attending conciliation meetings/hearings with union delegates and Fair Work Australia
- Responsible for maintaining effective communication with staff by: Being available to all staff for inquiries/problems, to provide general counselling and where necessary discipline staff
- Responsible for Occupational Health & Safety within the Club by: Being conversant with and implementing proper procedures in relation to occupational health and safety. Implementing a safety policy in order to safeguard employees from accidents. Maintaining an effective accident prevention programme and complying with all Statutory requirements in regard to safety regulations. Be involved with the OH & S committee
- Responsible for designing and implementing training programs that meet the needs of the Club by: Ensuring that all training undertaken is kept within the training budget. Advising all managers and supervisors regarding training of their staff. Delegating training duties to managers and supervisors as required. Evaluating the effectiveness of training to staff, departments and the club. Developing and improving the quality of service to guests and patrons through: a) in-house training programs b) on-the-job training programs c) providing up-to-date information and support of external training Building resource material such as training manuals
- Workers Compensation matters and rehabilitating injured workers and liaising with insurance companies, employees and other parties.
This is a senior role within the Group reporting directly to the CEO. Salary is negotiable according to experience.
