The Club is situated on the water 20km south of Wollongong and provides three function rooms that cater for 20 through to 400 people. The function rooms and 90 seat restaurant (Emeralds) have expansive views of Little Lake and the Pacific Ocean. The functions / events coordinator will oversee the coordination of all functions and will also have some duties in regard to the operation of the Club's a-la-carte restaurant.
With a membership of 18,000 members, this successful Club is well considered in the local area and has a very busy functions calendar over the next 12-18 months. The Club also hosts many high profile national and international sporting events and the functions / events coordinator will be expected to ensure the efficient and effective coordination of these by closely working with the many and varied stakeholders involved in such events.
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience in organising and supervising successful functions for up to 400 people;
- Experience in a high pressure a-la-carte restaurant environment;
- Strong people and team building skills with proven ability to motivate, train and monitor staff performance;
- The ability to make a positive contribution to the Club’s functions / events business, including working closely with Duty Managers and Chefs;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Exceptional attention to detail;
- Strong customer service focus with a proven ability to anticipate customers needs;
- Outstanding time management skills;
- The ability to cope well under pressure and have a proven ability to ‘think on your feet’;
- RSA Certificate.
Please note that this is a hands-on position - the successful applicant will be expected to get their hands dirty on a roster that includes weekends and night shifts. Remuneration and conditions of employment will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
