White Now supports a number of Type 1 Diabetes related foundations including JDRF and the Danii Meads-Barlow Foundation to support finding a cure for Type 1 Diabetes as well as awareness for NEW LIFE SAVING technology to prevent 'Dead in Bed' Syndrome. As you may know, one of the White Now team members this week "celebrated" 40 years since being diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. There have been so many complications every day with his illness, but he continues to give 100% to White Now where he can. We want to help EVERYONE with Type 1, now and in the future.

A Moving Letter From A Mother About The Death Of Her Daughter.

"Hello, my name is Donna Meads-Barlow and the photograph is of my daughter Danii, with me in happier times. My story is very sad. To prevent any other parent losing their precious child through diabetes the way we lost Danii, my husband Brian and I have set up a Foundation in her memory. Our aim is to bring technology to Australia that alerts the parent or carer when blood glucose readings reach a life threatening level. Danii was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes when she was only 5 years old. Despite having to prick her finger several times a day, to take her blood glucose (sugar) levels, and have several daily injections of insulin (and

later manage her insulin pump), my daughter led a full, action packed life. She was extremely popular and excelled in many things. A very talented singer - she was a leader of the Australian Girls' Choir and had aspirations to make singing a career. I miss her dreadfully.

A LIFE CUT SHORT - Sadly all her dreams were shattered on November 8th, 2011 when Danii lost her life as a consequence of having Type 1 Diabetes. She went to bed a happy, beautiful teenager and I was unable to wake her the next morning to go to school. She was just 17 and had everything to live for. I will never, ever be the same. Her brothers have lost a wonderful, vibrant sister and friend. Brian and I lost our beloved and only daughter.

This trauma COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED and the Danii Meads-Barlow Foundation is determined to help stop another tragedy like Danii's ever happening again in Australia. As a legacy to Danii, the Danii Meads-Barlow Foundation has been created to ensure that LIFE SAVING ALARM TECHNOLOGY is made available in Australia.

Australian Clubs are an Institution and always in touch with, and supportive of their local communities so I am asking for your assistance in any way possible. It could be a cash donation or an auction item for the Danii Meads-Barlow Foundation Jelly Bean Ball to be held on June 15th, 2013 at the Sofitel Wentworth Hotel in Sydney."
