The Role The Bar Manager is a hands-on leadership role responsible for the smooth running of daily bar and club operations. You will ensure high standards of service, safety, compliance, and venue presentation while leading and supporting a customer-focused team.
Key responsibilities: - Oversee day-to-day operations across the bar and club floor, ensuring excellent service, hygiene, and compliance at all times.
- Lead, supervise, coach, and mentor staff to foster a positive, professional, and member-focused culture.
- Ensure compliance with liquor, gaming, RSA/RCG, workplace relations, and WHS requirements.
- Coordinate staff training, performance reviews, and effective incident reporting and management.
- Manage venue presentation, security procedures, and emergency protocols to maintain a safe and welcoming environment.
- Contribute to rostering, scheduling, and stock control, and authorise reasonable operational expenditures.
- Build strong relationships with members, guests, contractors, suppliers, and local authorities.
- Support entertainment, raffles, and events, and contribute ideas for continuous improvement and future club initiatives.
Our ideal candidate - Proven leadership experience in a registered club, bar, pub, hospitality, or community venue.
- Strong understanding of bar, gaming, and customer service operations, with a focus on creating a safe, welcoming environment.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate, mentor, and manage teams, with a collaborative leadership style.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, including report writing, incident management, and liaison with staff, members, and the Board.
- Solid knowledge of liquor, gaming, workplace relations, and WHS legislation relevant to clubs.
- Flexible and resilient, with availability to work a rotating roster including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Proven club or hospitality supervisory/management experience.
- Valid NSW RSA and RCG certifications (Senior First Aid desirable).
