About the Role We are seeking a senior, hands-on HR professional to join a specialist advisory and recruitment business working closely with Clubs and hospitality organisations. This is a delivery-focused role suited to someone who is comfortable operating across HR advisory and recruitment, managing multiple matters at once, and working directly with clients to achieve practical, defensible outcomes. The role requires sound judgement, strong employee relations capability, and the confidence to take ownership of work rather than escalate it. This is not a traditional corporate HR management role. It is designed for someone who enjoys being involved, responsive, and accountable for outcomes.
Key Experience and Requirements Essential:
- Significant hands-on experience providing HR advisory and employee relations support in a senior or standalone role
- Strong working knowledge of the Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards and Modern Awards, with the ability to apply these practically
- Demonstrated experience managing real-world employee relations matters, including performance management, disciplinary processes, grievances and termination risk
- Demonstrated experience delivering end-to-end recruitment or talent acquisition processes, including screening, interviewing, reference checking and candidate communication
- Comfort operating in a role with high autonomy and accountability, without large internal support teams or layers of approval
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, practical and defensible HR documentation
- Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple matters or clients while maintaining quality and responsiveness
Highly regarded: - Experience working with registered Clubs, hospitality or member-based organisations
- Experience advising multiple sites, venues or businesses concurrently
- Exposure to Fair Work Commission processes or employment-related disputes
Before You Apply This role will suit someone who enjoys variety, autonomy and responsibility. You should be comfortable delivering HR advice, handling real employee relations issues, and running recruitment processes yourself — not just overseeing or partnering with others. It will not suit someone looking for a traditional corporate HR management role, extensive internal support structures, or a narrow ER-only position. There is a strong focus on delivery, judgement and client engagement. If you are a commercially minded HR professional who enjoys rolling up your sleeves, managing complexity, and being trusted to get on with the job, we would welcome your application.
How to Apply Please submit your CV along with a brief cover note outlining your experience delivering end-to-end recruitment and advising on complex employee relations matters.
