Situated on the fringe of Hunter Valley Wine Country between Kurri Kurri and Cessnock, Club Abermain is home to the Abermain Bowling Club, hosting two synthetic all weather greens (1 is brand new). The friendly Clubhouse offers a full range of facilities including The Heritage Bistro which is open 7 days for lunch and dinner, functions for up to 150 guests, a TAB lounge, KENO, 24 Gaming Machines and 15 dedicated staff who look after our 1700 members and their guests.

The Board is now seeking a talented professional to fill the role of Club Manager. This is a hands-on role responsible for operations, as well as administration and accounts functions using MYOB and Pulse for payroll.

The successful candidate will possess sound business and operational skills acquired within previous successful senior management roles. You will be familiar with the requirements of a licensed venue, in particular those relating to compliance and legislative issues, along with all general management aspects, including but not limited to:

  • Gaming
  • Human Resources
  • Food & Beverage
  • Marketing & Promotions
  • Financial Management & Reporting
  • Staff Management and Training
  • Reporting to and working with a Board
  • Customer Service
  • Membership

Take the lead of the team and develop staff to take on new responsibilities.

This role may suit someone seeking to gain first experience in a GM role and who can bring a hands-on approach to all aspects of the business.

To be successful in this role you will bring:

  • Experience at a senior management level in a hospitality venue
  • A good knowledge of all Club Operations including Gaming, Food & Beverage & Functions
  • Experience in accounts functions and reporting
  • Strong computer literacy - experience with MYOB and Pulse is high regarded
  • Good knowledge of legislative and compliance requirements in relation to Clubs
  • Ability to lead, train and motivate a service team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Sound organisational skills
  • Hands on approach
  • Experience in relation to marketing and promotions
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the Board
  • Current RSA and RCG Certificates, or a willingness to obtain upon employment
  • Flexibility to work across 7 days and nights as the business requires
