Cabra Bowls is known throughout Australia as a fierce and competitive club in the sport of Bowls, being home to many representative state and national players is only one side of this venue. Located in the heart of the Fairfield LGA and Cabramatta lies the venue known for its Vietnamese culture with live Vietnamese music 3 nights week and authentic south east Asian cuisine. With the venue planned to go through a multimillion-dollar renovation throughout 2022, Cabra Bowls is set to impress all with its transformation.

The Club is looking for a skilled and experienced Operations and Gaming Manager who brings with them the knowledge and experience to help implement change and a drive for success. You’ll be jumping right into a planned multimillion-dollar renovation within the first year whilst managing the day-to-day operations of the venue.

The successful applicant will have extensive experience in an operational role, with excellent people management skills and a passion for customer service. This role will report directly to and work closely with the General Manager and will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Club.

The Operations Manager will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Developing, maintaining, and implementing policies and procedures across the total operation, ensuring compliance with all legal requirements
  • Leading and managing employees across the Club’s operation to ensure adherence to workplace policies and procedures, to ensure the provision of excellence in customer service and continue to develop the team of staff members.
  • Being visible and having a hands-on approach to continue to connect with the team.
  • Responsibility for the Beverage Portfolio, purchasing, and inventory.
  • Responsibility for the Gaming machine installation including service standards and offers.
  • Oversee the day to day running of the venue
  • Ensure continuous improvement of Cabra Bowls customer service standards
  • Managing and reporting on customer and employee-related incidents
  • Employee relations and performance management.
  • Maintenance of strong and positive relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • Promote and enhance our workplace values and positive workforce culture

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • An appetite to forge their skills and build a legacy in the industry
  • Demonstrated experience leading and inspiring a team in a Club or Hospitality environment
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to liaise with all levels of the business
  • Resilience and flexibility to be able to work under demanding circumstances
  • Commitment to ensuring a safe working environment and high standards of security
  • Desire to continually improve all areas of the business - and their own accomplishments
  • Excellent time management, organisational skills and have attention to detail
  • Experience in managing a gaming portfolio including reconciliation and analysis.
  • Current RSA, RCG certifications, and Senior First Aid certificate
  • Experience and/or interest in honing their craft in a departmental portfolio
  • Qualifications in frontline management would be advantageous
  • Integrity - be a good person. Because we want to work with like-minded folk who enjoy each other’s company and their work!
  • Exposure to Gaming, F&B, HR, compliance, and marketing.
  • Sound knowledge of financial management and reporting skills.

An understanding of the systems used across different departments would be a benefit (but not essential). These include and not limited to: Senpos Point of Sale, IGT Advantage (Membership, Gaming etc), Tanda, and MS Office Suite. Your computer skills must be intermediate or above and you will have a positive outlook towards current technology.

Your skills will include the ability to make hard decisions, have an influential and encouraging personality and you will be able to demonstrate innovation and care for your team.
