Coonamble is the central hub of our region, set along the picturesque Castlereagh River among some of Australia’s finest agricultural land. With a small population of 2,750, Coonamble is full of character and a must-see town for visitors looking for an experience in a truly unique destination.

The Coonamble Bowling Club is situated in the centre of town, and is in a very strong financial position. The Club has 2,000 members with very popular facilities including a 250 seat auditorium, 32 Poker Machines, Bistro, TAB & Keno.

The Club now has an opportunity for a new Secretary Manager to continue to take the Club forward and work with a progressive Chairperson and Board.

In this key role you will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing all Club operations - including bar, gaming, marketing, promotions and functions
  • Financial accountability - careful management and accurate reporting on all monies and cashflow
  • Supervision and training of staff and maintaining high service standards to all members and guests
  • Overseeing and managing the Functions team with respect to all functions, including internal Club events, going over and above expectations, overseeing room set-ups and liaising with the catering staff
  • Management and accountability for stock control, stock ordering and stock levels
  • Wages control and staff rosters
  • Ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements across all areas of the Club
  • Being visible and hands on at busy times and during key periods to maintain ongoing connection with the team
  • Maintenance of strong and positive relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally

To be successful, applicants must have:

  • Strong cash handling and reporting skills – essential
  • Flexibility in working hours to meet the varying needs of the business
  • Ability to think outside the box, be creative and innovative
  • Event and Function experience
  • Passion for the Hospitality industry and providing excellence in customer service
  • Proven experience as an effective Leader
  • Sound computer literacy skills
  • Financial management experience including MYOB Accounting
  • Outstanding personal presentation and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • A hands-on approach to management
  • Knowledge and operational understanding of all compliance requirements
  • Current RSA and RCG Certificates
