The Cooma Ex-Services Club is looking for a dynamic Operations Manager to help drive the continuing success of the business through the ongoing development of all aspects of the organisation. This customer-centric establishment requires a highly motivated inspiring leader to maintain its position within the community. The role will focus on effective management of HR, operational systems and risk mitigation across the organisation.

You will be responsible for;

  • Managing the day to day operational requirements of the Club
  • Effectively managing and leading the team of managers and employees
  • Ensuring compliance with the Registered Clubs Act and other relevant legislation throughout the Club
  • Training, motivating and developing staff to ensure the delivery of quality customer service and organisational benchmarks.
  • Ensuring that Club policies and procedures are upheld and relevant
  • Maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for members and guests
  • Develop and implement an annual marketing plan and event calendar that supports key business areas
  • Oversee the writing and production of all marketing materials and content of social networking sites
  • Ensure delivery of member promotions to the highest standard including, but not limited to, visual merchandising, overseeing or conducting draws and measuring effectiveness, all within L&G guidelines
  • Leverage Club sponsorships and other corporate relationships to maximise positive exposure and branding opportunities
  • Prepare monthly reports and data consolidation as required
  • Ensure effective two-way communication is maintained with internal departments and staff

What you will bring to the role;

  • Extensive operational experience with at least 2 years experience in a management or leadership role
  • A hands-on and 'lead from the front' management style
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong skills in leadership and performance management to effectively motivate and develop staff
  • Proven ability to work independently, effective problem-solving skills and achieving results
  • Strong cash handling, banking and reconciliation experience
  • Full knowledge of gaming, TAB and Keno operations
  • Ability to implement and monitor Club policies and procedures
  • Advanced computer skills with a knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Background in rostering and staff scheduling
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Professional presentation and ability to communicate with a diverse range of demographics
  • Current RSA, RCG and First Aid certification
  • Tertiary qualifications in hospitality management or a similar field are highly regarded
