East Cessnock Bowling Club, warmly known as The Club of Community Choice, is an excellent club, located in the beautiful Hunter Region of NSW, offering year round sporting facilities. With both an indoor green and covered outdoor green, the Club’s members and guests can enjoy their sport all year round. Additionally the Club has an uncovered outdoor green for fun in the sun when the weather permits.

Led by a progressive management team, the Club has now been presented with an exciting opportunity to create the position of Bowls Coordinator.

Reporting to the CEO, our new Bowls Co-ordinator will be responsible for:

  • Promoting Lawn Bowls within the Club, including Zone, District, State, Club, Juniors and Social Bowls.
  • Managing the annual Bowls program and daily running of Bowls events.
  • Coordinating with Club Coaches, Umpires and Committees to meet Bowls NSW Regulations.
  • Coordinating the Pennant Selection Committee and advising the Committee.
  • Organising tournaments.
  • Negotiating sponsorships.
  • Liaising with the Facilities Supervisor to coordinate the use of the green space.
  • Preparing and maintaining the Bowls players payment system (if applicable).
  • Participating in the Recruitment Committee.
  • Assisting in the maintenance of the greens and grounds as requested, in conjunction with the Head Greenkeeper.
  • Preparing and submitting monthly Bowls Reports to the CEO.
  • Any other duties as directed by the CEO (or their delegate) from time to time.

To be successful in this role, the following is highly desirable:

  • Previous experience in a Bowls Development or Coordinator role.
  • A high level of communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Having a strong network within the Bowls community.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • A positive, friendly and outgoing disposition.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • First Aid, RSA and RCG certifications (or ability to obtain upon employment).

The Bowls Coordinator will be required to work between thirty (30) to thirty-eight (38) hours per week and may be required to work reasonable amounts of overtime to fulfil their duties and the operational requirements of the Club. At this time, the working week will be from Tuesday to Saturday.

Salary will be negotiated with the successful candidate and will be commensurate with experience.
