WEST HQ Ltd is Sydney’s leading landmark destination for Entertainment, Fitness, Lifestyle and Accommodation in the Western Sydney Region.  In 2019, with the completion of significant development came the smooth transition to the name ‘WEST HQ’ from the founding name Rooty Hill RSL.  
WEST HQ, with an annual revenue of around $100 million, a membership of approximately 60,000 and a footprint of about 9 hectares, includes the following venues and offerings:  
Sydney Coliseum Theatre; WEST HQ Box Office; Zone Bowling; One55 Health & Fitness; Sydney Gymnastic and Aquatic Centre (SGAC); Sydney West Sports Medicine (SWSM); Novotel Sydney WEST HQ; and the Club which accommodates: the Chandelier Bar; Corner Café; Chur Burger; Eat St. Bar; Gelatissimo; New Town Thai; PizzAperta Manfredi; Steak & Co. by Sean Connolly; Terrace Café; Chu Restaurant by China Doll; WEST HQ’s Sports Bar; Ambassador Room; Board Room and multiple Conference Rooms.  
WEST HQ are looking forward to an additional phase of development which will span 2022 through to 2025.  Now is an exciting time to join the company in the role of “Chief Operations Officer – Club” (COO - Club)
This newly created position fits into WEST HQ's revised organisation structure, which includes 11 members in the Senior Management Team.   There will be two key roles under in the Operational Leadership roles:  This role 'COO – Club' and a 'General Manager of Property' position.   The 'COO - Club' will be responsible for the following ‘operational areas’ of the ‘Clubhouse’ while the General Manager of Property all the commercial venues on the property site of WEST HQ excluding the Clubhouse:
  • Gaming
  • Venue Manager Team
  • Food & Beverage
  • Cleaning
  • Membership Services
  • Security 
  • Compliance
  • Surveillance
  • Warehousing 
  • Events.  
The ‘COO - Club’ will report directly to the CEO, Richard Errington who in turn reports to a Board of Directors consisting of 9 members lead by Chairperson, Dennis Dewhurst.  
This Top 10 Club has a ‘complete destination’ approach and therefore requires a unique individual who can work cohesively and collaboratively with the whole Senior Management Team to ensure smooth running of the operation along with the achievement of consistency in the customer experience delivery across the whole WEST HQ business.  
With a gaming installation of 720 entitlements, having a solid understanding of this offering is a must for the new 'COO - Club'.  WEST HQ have worked successfully to ensure that revenue from all other areas of the business is maximised resulting in over 41% of revenue coming from non-gaming activities.  WEST HQ are passionate about maintaining relevance to their community and with this, they focus on strengthening their five pillars:  Entertainment, Fitness, Food & Beverage (Lifestyle), Gaming and Accommodation.
WEST HQ are looking forward to a new person to join their team to drive the Clubhouse operations within the Senior Management Team.   
To be successful in this role you will bring the following to the organisation:
  • Experience in all of the ‘operational areas’ (listed above) which fall under the responsibility of the 'COO – Club'
  • Management and leadership experience at a Senior level
  • Revenue retailing and expense management
  • An innate intuition to recognise and deliver on unique offerings to enhance the customer experience
  • Business planning and budgeting experience 
  • Strong history in exceptional legislative compliance 
  • The ability to think differently and demonstrate innovation 
  • Exceptional skills in clear communication with the resourcefulness to be consultative with your peers and teams to produce exceptional results
  • The ability to generate a positive impact across all areas of the Clubhouse operation
  • The ability to be agile, flexible and anticipate unplanned challenges and be able to minimise their impact
  • The ability to realise and be a part of the greater business that is WEST HQ and work in consultation with your Senior Management peers to ensure the success of the overall business
  • Solid experience in gaming with medium to large installations in either pubs/hotel, clubs or casinos
  • A passion for continual improvement at both a personal and business level.
