The Opportunity

The Shellharbour Workers Club is looking for an experienced, driven and forward-thinking Marketing & Communications Manager to join our dynamic group. Working across two successful businesses, the Marketing and Communications Manager will be an experienced and innovative professional with demonstrated success in the development and delivery of marketing and communication strategies to support the achievement of business objectives.

The successful applicant will lead, develop, implement and oversee the roll out of marketing and communications programs that complement and optimise the performance of the business. Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the Executive Team and the Operational Management Team at both ‘The Shellharbour Club’ and the newly-established ‘The Imperial at Clifton’, the successful applicant will lead and oversee multiple campaigns and initiatives to increase brand awareness and ultimately, market share.

The Role

The full time 14 month contract role (with the potential for part-time flexibility) will oversee the delivery of targeted marketing solutions including strategic communications, brand management, product development and promotional activities across two leading hospitality venues.

You will own the brands! Central to this role is the ability to not only lead, develop and implement creative campaigns, but to also review and monitor promotional activities and marketing collateral to ensure alignment to the well-established brands and the brand guidelines.

Project management experience is a must. The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate their capacity to manage multiple competing priorities while overseeing a small team to execute campaigns and strategies that are reflective of the established brands.

In this role, you will be responsible for the:

  • Delivery of the strategic marketing plan including brand positioning, product development and community benefit campaigns.
  • Development, implementation, communication and evaluation of marketing strategies, activities and events designed to respond to changing trends and audiences within the market.
  • Analysis of market research, data and results evaluation to ensure effective campaigns including ROI performance reporting
  • Budget monitoring, analysis and expenditure forecasting
  • Digital presence of the businesses including websites, social media marketing platforms, online profiles and digital marketing strategies.
  • Preparation of clear briefs for creative, digital, web and production teams to produce effective campaign graphics.

What can you offer to the role?

  • Tertiary qualification in marketing and/or communications OR equivalent substantial industry experience;
  • Hospitality Industry experience;
  • People Leadership experience;
  • Brand Management experience and an unwavering brand vision
  • A strong understanding of licensing and compliance; RSA, RCG, Liquor Promotion Guidelines, Promotional Licensing Principles
  • Commercial acumen – the ability to analyse numbers and understand business financials
  • The ability to analyse and interpret market research
  • Strong project management, organisational and multi-tasking skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong partnerships and relationships with key stakeholders - both internal and external
  • Demonstrated sense of creativity and a passion for innovation and trends
  • High-level written communication and verbal communication skills including strong copywriting skills.
